I would bet that the restaurant marketers have left most of the positive ratings and comments. What a disappointment! I don't understand why a restaurant group would spend so much time and money on perfecting service, ambiance, and of course, "marketing" only to serve some of the most disappointing food I have experienced in a long time. Nearly everything they serve is deep-fried, including the $34 Grouper entree and tater tot side! Throw in a bunch of rich, heavy sauces (mayonnaise and butter-based)and you leave feeling like a tub of lard. Further, I live in NYC, and even I was shocked by the exorbitant prices and stupid gimmicks of serving the food with over-sized props.

I'm from the NYC area and have dined at many fine restaurants. I was disappointed with the food at Barton G..it was trying to hard to be something it is not. I ordered duck for the main course, which was very dry. I told the waitress and her mood changed completely; from pleasant to cold. The appetizers were so-so, and my boyfriend's main dish was better than mine, but not very memorable. Overall..we ended up spending $200, which was not worth it. AT ALL. The best part of dinner were the martinis we ordered..which you will need to enjoy a dinner at Barton G. Maybe they should get some tips from the pros in NYC!

I have been here a few times and for the quality and price = one of the best deals on South Beach. That is South Beach. My girlfriend and I went there with another couple from Toronto. Had a great time (atmosphere is fantastic) . Had a $100+ bottle of wine and drinks, Apps, entrees and dessert for the ladies AND with a generous tip = the meal was just under $500. For that quality.... best deal on S.B

After reading reviews, we weren't sure if we should go. But, we decided to find out for ourselves. The place is great! True, the menu is expensive. But, the portions are huge and delicious. The presentation lives up to the hype. The place is a bit cramped, because of all the customers! Waitstaff is very knowledgable. I took the waiter's recommendation for which steak I should get. I left him a better tip because he picked the correct wagu strip. Everything was great. I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitley be back on our next trip to south beach.

Nice presentation, but prices are too high for what you get.

the food itself is really just mediocre however, the presentation makes eating here a fun experience. i take out-of-towners here to eat quite a bit, and they're always extremely amused. there are a few good things on the menu like the sea bass in a bag, the skewers, lobster poptarts. nice atmosphere. there is an outdoor area, but the wildlife you may encounter may not be worth eating out there.

I went to this restaurant in April 2007 and had a fantastic experience. The presentation of the dishes make it really stand out. This is a great place to go for an occasion or to impress out of towners. The short ribs were excellent. The coconut crusted voodoo shrimp were tasty and also had an impressive presentation. They also have some fun drinks with nitrogen frozen alcohol, so the drinks get stronger as the alcohol melts.
