Awesome Mofongo!
We came for the mofongo and were not disappointed! All the food we had was awesome. The homemade hot sauce was super hot but very good. The restaurant decor is not the newest but the food and service made up for it tenfold. If you are expecting to be in and out quickly then don't come. It takes a while but that's because they make everything from scratch and well worth it.

Slow and greasy
The food is okay, but service is slow, food is very greasy. We ordered a variety of items from pasteles, to alcapurias, mofongo, etc. to get a taste of different things, none were unappetizing, but just too greasy overall. It's hard to find Puerto Rican food in Miami, so if you're jonesing for it, then it might be great, but if you have a sensitive stomach, beware.

Too expensive and is not worth it.
I order one time for pick-up and guess what they charged me for the containers because I order the food for to go. I will recommend to people if they are planning to order food from this place to bring your own containers.

The best pasteles!
I never had been in Benny's Seafood Restaurant, but this weekend, my husband, my nephew, and I went eat in Benny's Seafood. The food, the atmosphere, and service were excellent. I recommend anyone who wants to eat Puerto Rico dishes visit that place.

Best food in town!
It took a while to finally get our food but it was worth the wait! The most tender and tastiest pork, it was so tender it melts in your mouth. The flavor was out of this world! The arroz con gandules were delicious. The pastel too. And the mofongo was excellent too. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's worth the wait and the cost. The portions are quite large.

don´t bother
Let me start by saying I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I ordered an alcapurria as an appetizer. Alcapurrias are fried. They are supposed to be crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. This one was gummy, as if it had been put in the microwave....and it stank. I also ordered the mofongo with bistec. The steak was OK. Good portion, seasoned well. The mofongo had no taste. I found whole garlic cloves in the mofongo. That´s not supposed to happen since the garlic is smashed along with the plantains. The chicken broth that accompanied the mofongo was salty and tasted like it came from a can. No one at my table was happy with their food. Finally, the service could have not been worse. Our waiter would disappear for long periods of time.
