my meal went back twice since it was overcooked and taste burnt. The manager was apologetic and did comp my meal. Service was lacking and slow. I will not be returning

Outstanding!! We went to the bar for drinks and appetizer before dinner. I had one of their specialty drinks "The Cure" and my husband ordered a Chimay beer from their list of wide variety of craft beer. Drink order was served perfectly. We had two great bartenders Jennifer and Lee. Jennifer recommended the Ahi Tuna "Poke" which couldn't be a better choice. Our server, Sara, was great and was very attentive. The specials were explained with great care and detail. We had a table for four. Everyone ordered something different and we were all quite impressed with the incredible taste and flavor of the entrees. Our entrees included the skirt steak, chopped salad with salmon, roasted half chicken and turkey burger. The attention to detail and the flavor profiles with each dish are very well thought out and presented with great care. Please leave room for their desserts and plan to spend the appropriate amount of time to savor all the delicious bites of your meal. I recommend their Frozen Mississippi Mud Cake and Jumbo Carrot Cupcake I'm usually the first person to promote a bad experience and this was quite the opposite. Exquisite in every way. This restaurant will not disappoint, I promise. Service was great, friendly and very efficient. ...Burt and Max's is now our go to spot and is an excellent choice for any occasion! Plus there is valet parking right in front of it, so no need to search for a parking spot.

I was impressed with the décor from the outside of the place. It looks very chic and the mini amphitheater with a playing band was a nice touch. Unfortunately from there it was mainly downhill. While the restaurant looks ultra modern most of the patrons are about seventy or older, I certainly have no problem with elderly people but it definitely takes away from the restaurant being hip. We actually had to ask several times for bread, and when it finally came it was like a lot of the other food at the restaurant, a lot of flash but the actual food fizzled. The bread was unique and had some kind of cranberries in it; however, it was just okay at best. We then had the nine dollar chopped salad, realize salads are not included with any meals at this restaurant, and it was again just okay. My actual meal arrived and despite the waiter's recommendation it was very dry and dull. Finally, the dessert, the Mississippi Mud Pie was the only standout of the night. But at these kind of prices everything should standout. Not to mention the Mud Pie was nine bucks, not exactly cheap. So at the end of the day Burt & Max's is all about sizzle but the substance, the actual food is not that great and it is pricey. As it has been said, "All that glitters is not gold," and this certainly applies to Max's

Burt does it again. Great food, great service in a charming atmosphere. A much needed fine dining restaurant in western Delray. Plenty of outdoor seating.
