Chef Chris Paul's 51 Supper Club & Lounge
Posted by lisa on 04/30/2012
We went here last summer and had a great time. Alas this time we came with a large group and were served very dry rubbery lobster tails, which upon complaining did not get much response from waitstaff. Having a beautiful place should go in sync with excellent food, not arrogant service. Will not return.

After much hype and some good reviews, decided to try 51 Club by ourselves, and another couple. I'll be brief and to the point. Food was fair, in addition to very small portions. Service was poor, long waits to get their attention, food & drinks. The music was good, but too loud. The management not very corteous. We witnessed an altercation in a nearby table, occupied by a nice couple (we bumped into on the dance floor), where the bouncers and owner/manager were called-in and their behaviour was brutal, to say the least. Very distasteful experience - ruined our evening, needless to say, we left immediately.

A beautiful place with mediocre food and service.Me and my wife were lured by the pretty decor and great sound menu for Valentines day. yet, for the 130 dollars per couple, it was a price too high. Food came out slow. we were close to the kitchen and all we heard were sreaming chefs and managers..how romantic. In hindsight we could have gone to a national chain, paid half the amount and gotten the same or better food and certainly a better trained staff. I think 51 is more suited as a bar scene and meat market for the area. We will not return.

I thought the atmosphere was great but the food was not the greatest! The service was good and pricing was okay if the food was deserving. Not sure the type of crowd they are looking to draw- it was just a little bit confusing to say the least. Sorry but I unfortunatley would not return :(

We were disappointed with the quality of the food here. Such a beautiful place should at least have a fine dining cuisine to match it: fatty short ribs, rubbery colossal shrimp and just an array of typical menu choices. Wine list very impressive and well trained staff including a jovial maitre d who helped us with our food issues. Music was very entertaining and the switch between singer and dj fun. Visiting the lounge seems the best option here.

Visited this place new years eve...had a great time regarding food and entertainment. We came back with some friends last saturday from out of town. It seemed that some big party in back of restaurant was getting all the attention. Food took a long time to get..lukewarm. Service and mgmt seemed fascinated with this party while we seemed to recieve less attention. In a place this beautiful we would certainly expect superior service and food...not this time around...

We went on a friday night, Beautiful place, great live music. I ordered sauerbraten...very authentic. Very unique menu for this area..something different. Service was a little slow, but polite. Will be back for good food and nice atmosphere.
