Loved the non-greasy beef tacos
Hubby and I decided to try this (new to our neighborhood). Never been to a Chipotle before. It's like a Subway gone Mexicanvery limited menu, so you get your stuff fast. On the plus side: Very nice crispy tacos. The beef was NOT greasy and the guacamole and fresh tomato-cilantro salsa was quite, quite nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. I love that they offer healthier meats and at least partial organic foods. Not expensive. I like that, too. Cons: The limitations. No soft corn tortillas. ( I hate flour tortillas.) No whole grain flour tortillas (better than white flour). The beans needed more spice, especially the black beans. Very bland. For what it is: Mexi-Fast food, it rocks. I'll go there again for the taco and guac meal, for sure. For an inexpensive, fast, casual meal of tacos (or burritos or a "bowl" or a salad), this works.

Should have just gone elsewhere
Why did I eat here... why? I just wanted a piece of Houston, as I have had a bunch of friends there that always wanted to meet at Chipotle. I was never a big fan of their burritos - not when there's countless other places that make the tortillas fresh, load it with tons of stuff besides rice (who needs the extra carbs anyways when you're eating such a big tortilla?), and other stuff that screams "Viva la Mexico"! So I went to Chipotle... yes, I know this makes me look desperate. But really, the people were friendly, I'll give them that. What was bad was that my "normal" order of carnitas came out blah. It was dry and flavorless - I don't need to say any more. Maybe I should have used steak or something, I have no idea! But, anyways, this did NOT give me flashbacks of the good times that I've had with Chipotle - it only brought me back to the earth and buried my feet into the ground.
