my first visit in a new restaurant
I went there Saturday night with some dear friends, and I can happily report that it was one of the best, most safisfying first visits to a new restaurant that I can recall. Market-driven Italian, prepared with a sure-handedness and lightness of touch. Nothing fussy, but definitely not conventional, a combination of re-interpreted classics and innovative originals. The two pastas we had were spectacular, Linguine alle Vongole and the Fettuccine ai Funghi di Valle. The Short Rib al Barolo were first-rate. Comprehensive wine selection, old and new world, several nice ones by the glass. Wide range of not-overbearing desserts, including a transcendental tiramisu and vanilla bean panna cotta. Service was spot on. Modern, elegant and airy room. The back patio room is amazing.
