Undecided where to eat, my husband and I parked on Hollywood Blvd and decided to see if any restaurants attracted us. We were becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the mundane menus and average atmosphere of all the restaurants we passed. We kept strolling getting closer to the railroad tracks, expecting more of the same and started discussing where we should drive to next. South Beach was being mentioned as we came upon the end of our search at F.A.C.E .Restaurant and Bar. F.A.C.E. stands for French American Culinary Experience and what an experience it was! The decor was so tastefully and elegantly put together that you know you are obviously in a 5 star place, and at the same time, you feel as comfortable as if you were sitting at home at your own table. Our server was Noa. He was well informed of the menu and specials of the evening, as we put him to the test with all of our "first timer" questions. He was also charming and attentive. He spoke highly of Angel's bartending talents . When we asked what he recommended, he picked our favorite, Mojito. I warned him that my husband is cuban , citing that he will be bluntly honest about a cocktail he himself makes , and claims as the best. I agreed with him, until we had Angel's Mojito at F.A.C.E. The presentation was inviting. The fresh mint and lime was beautifully displayed through a tall curvy glass. Topped with a garnish of fresh mint and lime. The taste more then matched the appearance! Both my husband and I agree best mojito we have had in all of our travels. The whole way home we tr figuring out what ingredients were different, and are often successful with the exception of the Mojito! This is a true Mixologist as the after dinner cocktails once again were both asthetically as well as tastefully created. I indulged in, maybe a bit too fast as it was so tasty, Angel's Chocolate Espresso Martini and my Husband raved over the signature F.A.C.E.-Tini. For appetizers I had the Crab Strudel glazed with fresh made mango chutney and Maryland Blue Crab and my husband had the Portobello Mushroom and Tomato special, served in a square of puffed pastry sitting on a small pool of the most delectable garlic and parlsey sauce. We both chose the same entree which was the Seafood Bouillabase, a favorite of ours! AMAZING! Chef Michel has brought Paris to Hollywood! Filled with fresh seafood and a taste that will leave your palet wanting you to Bouree out the door rather then walk! F.A.C.E. is our new favorite!

This was my first visit to FACE and I was totally impressed. . Very pleasant and professional wait staff, quaint surroundings, delightful food, loved the musell, the crab strudel appetizers were to die for and the wine list was unique.The bourguignon was a hit with my friends. Great time!!!
