Giovanni's Coal Fire Pizza

Go there often never had a bad meal, but have been on a cruise ship that people said was horrible th eweek before, and the food was great. Like Anthony's wings better, but their chopped antipasto salad is usually enough for a meal. The meat balls are about the size of baseballs and a nice combo of beef and veal. Pasta usually al dente Lasagna special Sunday night is killer!!

I have been going for years and this year it has gone downhill. I live across the street so I frequent this place a couple times a week. The food gets worse everytime I go. Pizza made poorly, salads are smaller and dinners are smaller and sauce tastes canned. The prices and portions change everytime, the place is actually empty when there was a time it was always full. The employees who were always happy and friendly walk around mad. I have not been back in 2 weeks and know I am not the only one who isn't going back.

My last two take outs have not been pleasurable experiences. The first time we ordered wings with our pizza and they were burnt to the point of not being edible. Last night we ordered the 2 for 1 large pizza. Well, I would only recommend this if you only want two pizzas. We ordered two three toppings and two cheese, we had to pay for the two three toppings instead on one for one and when we arrived at the time we were given to pick up our order, it was COLD we got it home five minutes later. We actually had to warm in up on the stove top before we ate it. I'm not to sure I will try it again, I think I will stop at two strike.

I went in and sat at the bar. I was waiting for my fiancee to get there so I had a glass of wine. I was told by the bartender that it was 2-4-1 on wines and beer up at the bar all day every day. The charming bartender and the bar special were more than enough to keep us at the bar for dinner. We ordered a Caprese appetizer which came out promptly. It was delicious and I highly endorse the dish. We ordered a pizza to share as we finished our appetizer. We like to take our time and enjoy ourselves. The ambiance was terrific. Dim lighting sets an intimate mood and at anytime you can look up to watch one of many flat screen tvs, its the best of both worlds. Looking around, I could see our pizza being made in the open kitchen. Our pie went into one of their 3 brick ovens and came out in just a few minutes. One of the BEST pizzas I've had, EVER. It was cooked just right, crispy but not burned and just melted in my mouth. I will be back, probably by the end of the week.

We love their pizza. Thin crisp crust, and the cheese they use is top notch. Especially love the Tuesday special (Buy one large pizza get one free, for takeout.)
