Gourmet Deli House

If one has to be in Florida, this is the place to go for corned beef, pastrami and rye bread. Not to mention sour pickles, which are not available in the western half of the country. Then there's the lox, NOVA, custom sliced, chubs, white fish, white fish salad. Bakery. Oy. Killer rugelach and hamentaschen. Since my father passed in 2010, I haven't been there. Maybe they'll do FedEx but since they don't seem to have a web site, that may be out of the question. Just another (good) memory.

The only decent thing we all are was the pickles. The cold slaw was slimy and had no flavor. The turkey was dry and flavorless, and the baked potato old and slimy. The gravy wad hot but lumpy.

The food was great. Matzo ball soup, corned beef n cabbage, brisket, all freshly made and large portions. Warm crusty rye bread was good. Cozy family friendly atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly. It was a little bit of a wait to order but the waiter was genuinely busy. It's a nice place to relax and enjoy your meal, not a place to go in a rush. We will definitely be going back to try more of the menu.

This is my 93 year-old father's restarant in southern Florida. The matzo ball soup is always great...try it loaded. The rye is very good and my dad enjoys the chopped liver sandwich. I am trying to eat healthier so normally settle for the tuna salad platter. Even enjoyed the chopped steak dinner..a very filling meal.

My dad owned kosher delis in NY and I worked in them growing up. It is nearly impossible to find really good food of this type in Florida. The corned beef at this place is their specialty and it is very close to the best you can get in NY. I was surprised but I'm not complaining. A few times a year I get a craving for corned beef and this is the place I go to. Excellent rye bread too.

15 minutes to get a single glass of iced coffee (which was not good) another 15 minutes to place order, a 30-minute wait for a cremated $11.00 hamburger which I ordered medium rare. Another half-hour til I got the check. Never an offer of another glass of coffee, never a "how is your order?" Thanks very much, I'll go to somewhere else where I'll get my food less expensively and have way better serve and my food cooked properly.
