Always went to Grampa' s every year during our vacation here, more than 15 yrs. This year I was stunned, rude people working, cookie case half empty. Scant selection.Got home to find we only received one cannoli; not the two we ordered. Lucky for us, it was old & unappetizing. We couldn't even eat it, threw it in the trash.Where's Grampa' s old crew?

I was visiting my sister in Ft Lauderdale and she took me to this wonderful restaurant- Grandpa's. It was one of the best eating experiences that I had during my stay . We ate there 4 times. Each time, the waitress did an excellent job waiting on us.The food was excellent. I don't know what these other reviewer's are talking about-probably people that are never happy with everyone in life and are part of the the crab bucket syndrome- when one tries to get out, the rest pull him down. I know this restaurant has been here for years and I can see why. In a time when newer flashier restaurants are coming into town with a short life expectancy, it's good to know you can count on Grandpa's for consistently excellent service and food. Will definitely go there each time I come down.

Me and my family from MI just left this restaurant. The service was poor! We waited 30 minutes after ordering when finally we just got up and went to pay for our drinks to leave. When we got to the register the cashier asked for our bill. We told her we didn't have a bill and she said well I can't help you if you don't have a bill and who was our waitress. We told her it was the old lady over there and she said oh well don't worry about it the drinks are on the house sorry about your experience. Just by the way she act and just blew it off you could tell this was normal behavior for their workers. This was a very embarrassing experience.

This place has gone so far downhill. Haven't been in awhile and decided to go for breakfast. Service was subpar! Waitress took order then never came back! Somebody else brought our food, we were missing items. nobody refilled coffee or water. Food was mediocre and way overpriced. Place didn't seem very clean. Went back couple weeks later for dinner (not my choice). I got chicken parm and it was actually very good. But again service was poor and they weren't busy. Won't be going back.

We decided to try Grampa's after seeing it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. What a mistake. My wife and kids ordered the french toast which was average at best. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. This was the most unappetizing biscuits and gravy dish I have ever tried. I ended up eating three bites and waiting for the waitress to check in to see how things were. The waitress never checked in except to drop off the bill! She never asked how the food was nor did she ask why I hadn't touched my meal. At this point I just wanted to leave, but the kids saw the black and white cookies in the bakery and wanted to them. These were also not great and the kids refused to eat them after taking a few bites. I will definitly NOT return!

Grampa's Bakery is a great place to get some family home style cooking. As soon as you walk in the staff is friendly and kind. There was a little bit of wait time, but what else can you expect with a great restaurant. While you wait you can watch the bakers make all the cakes and bread right there! It's so fun to see all the hard work put into though. When you are seated the waiters are so helpful and they try their hardest to get everything perfect for you. The food is gourmet quality and the atmosphere is like Grampa's house, literally!! The prices aren't too bad for the amount of food you get and how good it is! The omelets and pancakes are great! The only thing disappointment is they give you pre packaged smuckers syrup and not pure maple syrup, but other than that it is fabulous!
