H2O Cafe

1st the good, the $5 smoothies were yummy and I would go back to get another one as take out! The pancakes were overcooked but ok with butter & syrup, but not worth $11. However, the service was unlike any I have ever seen. I asked the guy if they seat people inside & he said "that's why I asked do you want outside" (I hadn't heard him & that clearly upset him). Our waiter was inattentive. Didn't speak, would just mutter. Wouldn't answer any questions. This service was just unlike any I had ever seen. They were snippy, irritable & took forever with the food. Our waiter also took forever to check on us. When I bought the smoothies the register was down so the smoothie girl told me I had to order them from my waitress. Granted she was stressed because her register was broken. However, I was paying cash so why wouldn't she take my order like she did everyone else. It's a shame because the restaurant seems perfect for families but it's just not welcoming. We had 2 small girls and now we will have to find another breakfast spot:(

I had lunch at H2O today - my birthday - not that the server would have known. We were told to seat ourselves with the menus dumped in a stack on the table. Our drink orders were taken by our server - the only time he was remotely kind. The rest of lunch was arduous - asking for bread or a side of dressing seemed to infuriate our server and tax him to no end. The food was OK but hard to choke down after dealing with the guy who brought it. He ruined our meal - I wish I had chose another spot to celebrate my birthday - I will never go back.

Food is amazing, great atmosphere, and prompt high quality service! Liked very much!

Service was excellent! Snapper picatta was amazing! Maine lobster very good! Would definitely come back!

I was NOT impressed. I went to dinner with two business partners and their wives who were in town for the week. I have a home in Ft. Lauderdale, but had not tried Café H20 before, but had driven by a few times and thought with their location perhaps they had a good thing. The entire experience was like the restaurant equivalent of ‘a chicken with its head cut off.’ The service was slow, and yes they were busy, but slow even for ‘busy.’ My wife and I felt the food was average at best, so much so that one dish was sent back. However, what annoyed me most is attitude of everyone we encountered. I see this here in Florida from time to time. It seems when a new restaurant starts having some success, and begins to think they’re the new ‘trendy’ hot-spot, they start to get cocky. In my opinion that’s what we experienced at Café H20 – a general air of ‘you’re lucky to be here.’ I simply have no tolerance for this type of attitude. By the end of the meal I felt embarrassed I had made the recommendation.
