After eight straight visits to DDD restaurants which were all excellent our winning streak ended with Havana Hideout. I give it one star for a funky, relaxed atmosphere and $3 Red Stripe beer. Don't see how Guy could have liked what was served to us. Tasteless fish tacos, an unremarkable and barely edible Cuban sandwich and a mixture of ground beef and Latin seasoning that was noteworthy more for its dripping grease than for its taste. The pricing here is from Mars. A bottle of Red Stripe was reasonable at $3 but small cups of $6.50 draft or Sangria were not. The $9 plate of DDD tacos had half the food of the $12 DDD sampler and looked like a tiny appetizer. Coming from New Mexico we know true Mexican food and this misses the mark by at least two barn doors. Pleasant atmosphere and forgettable food sums it up.

Growing up in Hialeah (Miami) I was exposed to a lot of latin food. When I moved to Broward county I missed the cuisine so very much. I order from a local restaurant that is just okay. UNTIL, I found Havana. I have ordered catering from them on 4 separate occasions and it was Excellent. Excellent Food, Excellent Service, Excellent Portions. Since I work in PB and live South East Ft. Laud. I get dinner to go about every 2 weeks. My Husband LOVES Havana! We meet my good friends at Havana - They come from the North and We come from the South and Meet at Havana's for Great Food and Awesome Beer and Sangria! On one separate occasion - a side dish was forgotten; I called the restaurant, they wrote a credit up for me and included the side dish on my next Order. Now That's Service!

This place is great. Came in off the street because of the live music heard from the street. What a great find, this place is a little hidden gem that apparently the locals want to keep a secret. I don't blame them, the food was great, the beer selection is to die for and the atmosphere is totally Florida. Try this place!

What an Excellent experience!!! I brought my parents to Havana on Sunday, 7/18. I saw it on the Food network and was looking forward to it. We were so pleased. Our server was not only knowledgable, she was also HYSTERICAL. It was like a comedy show with great food, then the music started, and it became even a better time. We started with the ceviche which was fresh, savory and delightful. We had sangria, after being offered a sample and precise description, our main courses of the cuban, the fish tacos and a quesadilla were the best.. Do yourself a favor and run to get there, they get pretty busy!!

So I was excited to try this place out but was disappointed. The service was slow, unfriendly and really lacking. Our server never smiled once. We were told to go ahead and take a seat even though the table had not been bussed yet. That is fine but the table should have been wiped down. The server forgot my drink ( not a big deal) but she never checked back so I did not get my drink until the meal was served.( ok half the meal cause the food did not come out together). No one ever checked back after the meal was served to ask us if everything was ok or if we wanted another drink. My friend wanted to order another taco but we decided to forget it.The place was not busy but the service was slow and inefficient. I understand that this is not a fancy place but even a dive needs to have friendly and decent service. The ceviche was mostly salsa ( which was very good) but like I said not very much fish. The chips were very good but were not served warm as described on the menu. The food looked nothing like the pictures on the website and the portions were much smaller. The strawberry sangria was sweet and pretty tasty but I thought $6 plus to be kind of pricey for a small plastic cup of sangria. If you are looking for fancy this is not for you. The place has a great tropical vibe and I have heard the open mic nights are good. This place has potential but the service really needs to improve.

This is to anonymous5. I'll gladly say who I am. I'm Chrissy Benoit, owner of Havana Hideout, and me and my staff bust our behinds everyday to show love to our customers. It is sad that a person who doesn’t even want to say his name, can try to do damage to an honest hard working place. He waited 25 minutes, then threw the food at my guy in the kitchen. Now as he threatened to do, he has posted this false event everywhere he can....must be nice to have so much free time on your hands huh? Thanks to all the people who support us, you are loved!
