An unexpected surprise!
Just got back from this restaurant after trying it for the first time. It is a bit classy inside, with dim lighting, and clean decor. The servers all worked as a team, and were very on point and efficient. I was spoken to by about 7 employees all in one night who made eye contact and smiled, and warmly welcomed/served/said goodbye. The food was very reasonable--$9 for burgers, $10-$13 for salads, and a little higher for some other seafood/grilled items. Here is a synopsis on the food from each member of our table: Seared Ahi tuna salad with mango and avocado--one of the BEST quality tuna dishes i've had. Pastas--just ok. Caesar salad with salmon on top: amazing piece of fish, with a very fresh salad. Burger--generous, good quality, and delicious. Happy hour drinks: Yuengling for $2, and a delicious mojito in a martini glass for only $4--how can you go wrong? One point of constructive criticism for the restaurant: the wooden chairs were a bit heavy, a bit uncomfortable, and made a terribly loud noise as you drag them in or out. I would recommend some felt bumpers at the bottom of each chair and/or cushioning. I usually expect the worst when I try new places, but this place was exceptional. I would highly recommend trying J Marks if you haven't yet.

Our 3 experiences at J Marks
We've been there 3 times, once with friends at the bar, then for dinner. at a table(drinks are great). The 2nd and 3rd time, drinks and diner at the bar then drinks and lunch at the bar respectively. I enjoyed everything and to expect perfection overall, get real! With the exception of the female sever the 1st time, everything was great . I don't expect the staff to fall all over themselves serving us, but for the most part, I, myself and my friends are planning on going again and again and again!

Good but waitress was kind of rude
The food was good but my waitress had an attitude problem. I wanted my steak well done but she wouldn't let me have it that way. She kept insisting that I get it medium rare or medium. I told her that I understood that it might come out a little hard but I wanted it well done anyways. Still...she kept making a face and insisting that I get it the other way. In the end, I had to compromise and get the steak medium-well. She was propably right in that the steak was juicier and all but still...it was just the principle of the situation...I wanted my steak well done and she wouldn't let me have it that way.

Horrific Experience at JMarks
My wife and I have been regulars since the opening of JMarks, but after our experience today, we will NEVER return. Although the food and the waitress were top notch, the management was the worst I have ever seen. A man came to speak with my wife and I. He was insulting not only to us, but to the other guests around us at the time and the waitstaff as well. I even heard this man screaming obscenities in the kitchen! I don't know who decided to hire this man, but you are losing good customers because of him.

Finally!
Finally a good food, good service, good prices and good atmosphere kind of place! Not to mention close to home, we live in Margate. Owner stopped by our table, and we loved our waiter (we sat in bar area) Craig. You HAVE to try the egg rolls, (avacado, sun dried tomatoe, among other great flavors, in a crispy crunchy roll) and the dipping sauce, oh my! I had the tuna salad, husband had the rib eye, soooo good. A fun place to go even for just drinks. Not a quiet romantic kind of a place so if thats what your looking for dont go. Not a sports bar place either with TV screens all over. More of a fun talk out loud, listen to cool tunes kind of a place. For sure we're going back, we dine out alot and are always looking for good spots!

One of my favorite places to go!
I probably go to J Marks with my family and friends at least once a week- IAs for appetizers- the calamari is fantastic! It is a great place for a prime rib dinner and my husband loves the NY strip. The owner Steve is really personable and goes out of his way to visit tables to ensure everyone's satisfaction. We usually try to get Joy to take care of us just cause we love her- but everyone there is really nice and for those of us in the immediate area- we are thrilled to have such a great place so close to home! Keep up the good work guys!

Great service
My Boyfriend took me to J. Mark's for my birthday on a Saturday night, very loud inside, but beautiful. When we arrived at the restaurant the hostess, a very sweet young lady, told us there was a small wait. No problem so we sat at the bar had a cocktail and enjoyed talking to our bartender , I believe his name was Curtis. Very enjoyable man. Soon after, we got to a table. Our server, Amber was prompt and was very accommodating. She recommended the crispy walnut shrimp which will forever remain on my lips (& hips). Overall the service and food was excellent. The only bad thing I could say about this restaurant was the food took about thirty minutes to reach our table, and that was after our appetizer. But Overall great place to eat!
