My son took us to eat at Jerusalem Deli when we were in Miami. They couldn't stop talking about it. I had my doubts when I saw it was a hole in the wall market. I soon changed my tune! Fortunely we were with people who had eaten there before and they ordered for us. You order from the counter, lunchroom style , and they dish it up. Let me just say that Lebanese food quickly became my favorite ethnic food. Like nothing I've ever tasted and every bite delicious. Forget the atmosphere....gimme the Kibeh! These little fried balls were so tasty. Loved the meat pie version almost better. Hummus perfect, with just the right amount of the Middle Eastern "universal solvent"...olive oil. Did I mention this food is healthy? The Lebnah (yogurt dish with olive oil...don't knock it till you try it...hmmmm!) Falafel, tabouleh, stuffed grape leaves and Baba Chanouj were all tasty and filling. Most of us ordered an array of appetizers such as those above. My son likes the shish kabob and shawerma pocket pita sandwiches. After eating I went over to their market shelves and bought a large jar of their 7-spice seasoning which they use in just about everything. If you are in Miami area, this is place is worth hunting down. It isn't cheap if you order ala carte like we did and atmosphere doesn't exist. You won't care...trust me!
