Undercooked clams casino, clams practically raw, no bacon. Ravioli had the texture of hockey pucks, sent back to kitchen. Ordered penne vodka that came out in 3 minutes, certainly not freshly made. Linguine with clams swimming in tasteless oil, not a sauce, served with 6 clams that tasted like they were open for hours. Entrees came out before appetizer dishes cleared, had to ask for new silverware, all the while being subjected to loud live music that made it difficult to converse on a weeknight. Seriously overpriced for unappetizing food and service. AVOID this restaurant.

We had driven past this place at least a thousand times; my wife always thought it was too expensive. We finally went. It is out of this world. Food is fabulous, service impeccable. They actually SERVE you, beautifully. Ask and you shall receive. Music night is great, and you can sit away from the front of it. The ONLY negative thing I can think of is it is about 6 miles to the powder room. But I use a walker, so it’s an issue. But the food makes up for that. Call to find out about the music.

If your definition of "fine dining" is waiting an hour for a table, being crammed into a dining room like sardines and getting attitude from the owner/manager, than you found the right place! Though I called early in the week for a reservation, I was told that they don't take reservations for 2 and that we would have NO problem being seated even though it was a Saturday night. Sitting at the bar for more than an hour, almost ready to leave in disgust, we were seated....having to navigate through an overstuffed room filled with tables and no room to walk, the noise level beyond that of a sports arena and then expected to sit at a tiny table pushed into the center of this room sitting on torn old "cafeteria style chairs" (which I refused), we sat and watched as the wait staff ran around like whirling dervishes as they clearly were over worked and constantly apologizing for wait. While this is supposed to be a stylish restaurant, there were people allowed to dine in shorts, tee shirts and flip flops, right along side the other patrons dressed up for a pleasant evening out. Having been to this restaurant before on several occasions, it was clear that these people were now more interested in the bottom line than satisfying their clientele. When the owner/manager came FINALLY came over to check on us, I voiced my displeasure and she proceeded to give me attitude and walked away and complained to another table of patrons....whatever happened to the customer is always right and the graciousness that should be extended to all customers? Save yourself the aggravation and the sore throat from yelling to be heard by your table mate and go someplace else.

Whether you are a local, like me, or visiting from out of town for a short or long period of time, you must definitely have Josephine's on your list for dinner one evening. It's like escaping to Tuscany for a dining experience like no other. The food is amazing - the best fried calamari you'll find anywhere, and the entree portions are generous - at reasonable prices. The decor is gorgeous and the staff is professional, polished and very service oriented.
