My wife and I came in for lunch Saturday Afternoon. Our server answered a lot of questions about the menu. We told her we knew good crab cakes she said we wouldn't be disappointed, and they were awesome!

Went there today for late lunch. My wife had ice tea with her lunch and I had 2 draft beers. When we received the check it had 3 beers. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress she insisted that I had 3 beers. My wife told her she knew I only had 2. The waitress said she knew I had 3. I ask to speak to the manager who happen to be the bartender that said he poured 3 beers. I NEVER have 3 beers for lunch. Neve had anything like this happen before. We like the food here but after this, we will never be back.

We went twice because we had a coupon we bought. It wasn't honored at lunch time because fine print we hadn't noticed specified that it had to be used for dinner hours. At the lunch meal, our waitress zipped around and never returned to refill our drink glasses, although I notice she did so for the business men lunching at the table beside ours. She ignored servicing our table. I ordered a scallop topped salad and it only had 3 scallops. It was enjoyable though and my husband liked his sandwich okay. When we returned in the evening, our different waitress was much nicer and more accommodating than the previous waitress. We had appetizers and drinks. My martini was tasty but was in the smallest martini glass I've ever seen and at $8.50 I believe it should have been in the standard larger sized glass. They advertise a "happy hour" but you find out that it means that only a few certain beers are discount priced ; it doesn't cover all beverages and I got no break on my teeny martini. We had the boiled shrimp special and only realized that the discounted special price meant that you have to peel them yourself after they arrived at the table. Their regular order touts that they are unpeeled and my husband didn't notice any words on the special happy hour pricing to say any different. They were tasty and the cocktail sauce was nice and spicy. We also ordered the cheesy crab dip which my husband liked but I didn't think it was special. It was meaty, sort of like crab mixed with processed cheese. To me, rather bland. While food was adequate, I don't think I'd be enticed to rush back any time soon.

The wrong food brought to the wrong table slowly.

My wife & I are from Maryland, the Land of Pleasant Living, especially where seafood is concerned. For the 8+ years that we have lived in Florida after retirement we have been searching for a seafood restaurant that serves crabcakes in the Maryland tradition. We have been to many retaurants that advertise "Maryland Style" crabcakes but to no avail. Our search for the ultimate crabcake continued until we saw an ad for Kirby's. Sounded like just another boast about how their crabcakes were the "best" but we found out that the chef/Owner was from Maryland and that had great appeal. We just had to try it. Best decision we've made. We.ve been back several more times in the last few months and have never been disappointed. The crab dip & tortilla chips appetizer is to die for. I also enjoyed the shrimp and corn soup. I have tried the hamburger topped with crab imperial (fabulous) but my favorite is the Kirby's Seafood Club Sandwich. Absolute heaven on a roll loaded with crab cake and shrimp salad, cheese, bacon, and lettuce & tomato. I highly recommend Kirby's to anyone who enjoys good crab and shrimp. The place is by no means fancy but don't let the exterior fool you. The food is what counts.
