Best Italian south of New Jersey

Being a snow birder, and not familiar with the eateries here in south Florida, finding La Veranda was a jewel. Visiting the restaurant several times in 30 years, it is a main source of Italian food for me and my wife. I am Italian and fussy about my Italian food. Kudos to the owner and staff.

    Amazing

Love, love love LA Veranda... Best Gnocchi I have ever had. The service is wonderful and you feel like your actually in Italy.

    Profiteroles

Where in Florida can you find Profiteroles? La Veranda! This is my most favorite restaurant. I love the lace tablecloth, fireplace, wonderful servers, and mostly the food. We have never had anything that was not great.

    Not close to Tuscany

The wine menu, though somewhat diverse was scattered. The server suggested a listed wine, that had no finish, and never opened. The wine glasses were poorly washed. The "roasted peppers and anchovies" were out of a bottle and can... the fish was good... The fried Calamari was under fried, and the red sauce was average. Sorry - was looking for good Italian, since we just returned from Firenze.

    Fantastic Italian experience

We were in town for 1 night and our hotel recommended a restaurant that we found to have burned down.Driving around the street, we saw the lights of the LaVeranda and dropped in. This was the best decision we made all day - excellent drinks, great food and service - a little pricey but well worth it. This is not a "typical" Italian restaurant - it is the best! Try it - you will enjoy it!

    Excellent choice

Been wanting to go for a while now since I pass by every day. Finally tried it today and let me tell you....im glad we did, the food was excellent, price good and the place is very warming....a really good experience, def be coming back. My boyfriend is half Italian and this is real Italian food, the best i've tried so far.

    Smaller portions

We were at the restaurant on new years eve, and for starters we ordered our favorite appetizers stuffed mushrooms, which are to die for, but lately we noticed that the mushrooms are getting smaller and smaller. At $11.95 which we usually don't mind I think something is not right. I hope I wont have to verbalize this the next time we go. everthing else was lovely, but that certainly disappointed us.
