There was no way the atmosphere was going to be poor when the restaurant is located on the sunset side of Sunset Key, but the tables in the sand, lit tiki torches, prolific waving palm fronds - it made me feel faint. The service was excellent. Not stuffy, not intrusive, not pushy, just excellent (ask for Michael). And then the food. Sea urchin emulsion, carmelized pistachio nuts, roasted beats, Yukon potato rounds, foam of goat cheese, etc., all so beautifully presented that it was more art than food. Each bite was equisite. I forgot how good it was between bites and then had to exclaim all over again. And then the couple in front of us got engaged. He dropped to his knee, she cried and exclaimed, "yes!" and we all applauded for a long while. Oh, the sunset, yes, exceptional too. And we were not hurried out although we had been sitting there for quite awhile. We offered to get up but were assured that our table was ours as long as we wanted it. Now the drinks, pretty crazy pricy, but the food was no more than any other excellent restaurant on the island. The boat excursion across the bay should be every romantics main destination. I am THRILLED to have found a new favorite restaurant in Key West!
