Best burnt green beans!
I live in CT and it was like Carmine's, NYC. Food and our server and host were all great!

Inconsistent... won't go back
I live in upstate NY where they have 100s of Italian Restaurants.... Our first 2 dinners at Matteo's, we thought it was one of the best sauces we've ever had.... returned 2 days ago with 3 friends and it almost inedible. Told the man at front desk my experience (quietly) and asked if they had a different cook on... he said NO. I cannot imagine that anyone there that night had a good meal. I won't go back.

Lucky they exist
The waiter was doing us a favor. We wanted to order appetizers before ordering the meal. He said we couldn't do that. '"Everything has to be ordered together." The sauce on my wife's dish looked and tasted as if out of the jar. To get a refill on the glass of water took several requests. An appetizer, an extremely mediocre chicken dish, and "lobster" (non-existent) ravioli was close to $70 +.

Overrated
This place is sooooo overpriced. I asked for a substitute for potato they said no. Food was average but not worth the overprice. service unfriendly.

Best baked clams!!!
Food is terrific and service is like NY always have a good meal, just remember to share.
