Michael's Genuine Food & Drink

Went to lunch w. wife and grown daughter. Food was generally excellent, although wife's wrap was only fair. An appetizer of heirloom tomatoes and burrata was superb, although at $20 was overpriced. (My fault for not inquiring about the price when our server suggested it.) The service was excellent and solicitous, although a tad less "selling" would be in order. I would certainly return.

We initially had a couple great experiences in 2010 and followed by 2 of the least pleasant evenings ever in a quality restaurant in 2011. A disdainful head waiter first refused to take our reservation saying they were full, but taking a chance we later found them to be half empty. The food was lukewarm and overcooked. Service slow. Returning a week later it was worse. Service was subpar: The waiter forgot to order one guest's meal, and then it was no longer available. Everything was out of sync. Something has gone wrong there. Only the wine was good, but overall the experiences were unpleasant. A shame for such a creative place.

The restaurant was absolutely splendid! I ordered the deviled eggs and they were so good I went again the next day.

So went here for brunch last weekend. My friend ordered the deviled eggs, I went for this shrimp and egg thing. Mine was delicious but who knew deviled eggs could be an experience. I have now been boiling eggs trying to recreate Michael's deviled eggs, I'm sure by this weekend I'll have given up and gone back for those.

it's really too bad. i've eaten here a few times, different days, different times. each time, the food is great and the service is seriously lacking. slow. food comes out before your drink. never see your server. food is pretty reasonably priced, but some of the drinks are expensive for what they are. food done really well. the desserts are all fantastic. their pastry chef is amazing.

Michael's just opened for brunch and we loved it.. It's tapas style and we loved it... It's a la carte, but prices are very reasonable... There are dishes starting at $2.00... We have been to Michael's for lunch, dinner and now brunch.. I have to say it's one of my favorites places....

This restaurant receives such praises online but it was one of the worst dining experiences. Service was not good. Our waiter barely paid attention to us and never asked if we liked our food. Probably because he was scared of what we would say. My dining partner ordered homemade pasta which came in clumps TWICE. Even after sending it back and being told the chef prepared the next one special, half of the pasta stuck together and was under cooked. I ordered the short ribs, one of their specialties and it was charred (not grilled as the menu suggests), dry and the "sauce" (which wasn't saucy at all, but instead a glob of mush on top) was practically inedible so the whole dish lacked flavor. Even with removing the pasta from the bill, we still paid way too much for the quality meal. PLUS the $40 cab ride to and from South Beach. Waste of money.
