Miller's Ale House

I am spending 5 months here in Florida and have found many great restaurants. This has been by far my greatest disappointment. I sat at the bar because I was by myself. After waiting patiently for "two songs" and being ignored by both waitresses I called out to one "can I get a drink please". She gave me the stink-eye and smugly said "sure". I should have left then. I ordered their thursday night special prime rib, as usual medium rare. When it finally came it was well done. I ate a quarter of it because I was hungry but gave up because it was dry and tasteless once the fatty bits were gone. One of the waitresses noticed I pushed the plate aside with most of the meat left and asked if I wanted a take-away carton. I said no, that it was well done instead of medium rare as ordered and that I couldn't eat it and didn't want it. She dumped it in the garbage and gave me the bill. There was no discussion, there was no discount. It was clear that this place could care less about me or my possible repeat business. There was an "old timer" sitting beside me who said he never eats there but likes to have beers at the bar. He called out at least 3 times and nobody noticed him. I finally got one of the waitresses attention and ordered him a beer - again I can't believe this, and this guy was a regular!

I am constantly here trying something on the menu. I haven't been disappointed yet. The portions are beyond generous for what you pay. We always leave with left overs and never have room for dessert. It's no wonder they are always packed.
