Forever a Texan, but look forward to this jewel of a steakhouse in Florida If you are not excited here, you are not a quality meat eater Great steaks cooked anyway you want them and in 50 visits, never disappointed. You veggie eaters should not complain about this steak house treasure. First class- great place to eat!

We waited in the bar for 45 minutes, which we like to do. We asked for a booth for 2 and we were sat at a round table for 5. It took the waiter about 10 minutes before approaching our table. He never introduced himself. We ordered drinks and I asked for broiled scallops to start. "oh no we don't have scallops". Do you have anything like that? "Lump crab meat". But that's cold, I said. What else can you suggest?. "Our appetizers are listed on the menu". He didn't even want to help us. Now I'm mad. I ordered the stuffed prawns. It took forever for him to bring our drinks. Things only got worse from here. Apparently our waiter has been there for many years, but didn't even know the menu. My friend asked for a glass of water. The waiter brought him the water and walked away. Never asked if I would have liked water, nor did he offer us bottled water, which I prefer. My tiny little New York strip came. Before I took the first bite he did a "drive by" asking how my steak was. I said I'll let you know in a minute. He never came back. The steak was unappetizing. So full of gristle I couldn't eat it, and I wouldn't have even brought it to my dog. No management ever came by our table, but I observed them going to other tables. Our waiter had no personality at all, yet I heard him laughing and sucking up to another table. I really don't think I'll ever go back, except to go to the bar.

The service at this antiquated steakhouse was enjoyable during my recent dining experience, however with the food was disappointing. I ordered a king-cut prime rib and my piece was refrigerator cold throughout when I received it. I ordered a Porterhouse as a replacement for it was cooked unevenly and found its taste to be off-putting due to the hot skillet and oil placed on it. There are better places to dine at out for the money! I won't return!

New Yorker and long time patron of Okeechobee Steak House finds consistency in excellence of food and service. Only one criticism ... please revert to your hot "crusty" loaf of bread, and get rid of the current offering. Looking forward to next visit.

You can't beat the salad bar (included with your meal) Had the filet steak tips today. They were excellent. My daughter had the baked stuffed shrimp. They were very good also. We ordered the appetizer of stuffed mushrooms. They arrived on the cold/luke warm side. Weren't impressed with those at all. Service was quite slow too. The next time I go, I think I will get the soup and salad bar. It was great!
