Not like it used to be

We have eaten here for over 25 years now. New owners prices are higher which I understand but the quality of food went down. I was disappointed with the shrimp franchise in an egg batter. You could not even taste the lemon. The new owners need to wake up, we were there on sat and usually had to wait to get in the door not any more too bad.

Was served overcooked fish and steak, with no seasoning. Microwave cooked food as well. Twice baked potatoes were cold and burned at the same time. Service was poor at best from door to table. Prices way too expensive for fast food taste.

All the food was frozen, defrosted, drenched in butter/oil and put on the plate. The veggies were floppy and swimming in their version of a "saute". If I could post the picture of my personal butter/oil pool on my plate I'm sure any reader would instantly need a bypass. The twice baked potato was a hockey puck that was removed from its frozen plastic cellophane residence and murdered in the microwave. Next the steak, 1 ordered medium and the other mid-rare. Both well done on arrival. The waitress was very understanding and had the kitchen prepare two new steaks. While we waited we ate the lobster tails and were pleasantly suprised. The tails were fantastic! When the new steaks arrived they were cooked perfectly yet were riddled with grissel?! Still hungry we pressed forward and took a bite. By far the most unappetizing steak either of us had experienced. The meat was rancid! We asked for the check and politely declined togo boxes. Now this is were we were rather suprised. We received a bill of $70.90. Now for surf & turf a bill of $100.00 is easily to be expected but when your establishment fails to provide the "turf" how does that become the financial responsibility of the customer?

    Oldies but goodies

I was visiting my sister in Ft Lauderdale and she took me to this wonderful restaurant for my last night It was one of the best eating experiences that I had during my stay . The waiter did an excellent job waiting on us.The food was excellent.I know this restaurant has been here for years and I can see why. In a time when newer flashier restaurants are coming into town with a short life expectancy, it's good to know you can count on the Old Florida Seafood House for consistently excellent service and food. Will definitely go there each time I come down.

The scallops were soggy, the shrimp was overcooked, the baked potatoes were not cooked, the baked stuffed potatoes were unappetizing.
