    Negatives outshine Positives

    Perhaps there's a time a place for loud and cacophonous top-40 pop music (some would obviously argue this fact), but while trying to have dinner is not one of them, especially at an establishment such as this. A different decibel level as well as selection would have been more appropriate, however, the majority of the staff, minus our lovely waitress Desiree, were more interested at sitting by the bar watching the Red Sox rout the Cardinals. Only three tables in the back were occupied and each patron at each table had to scream and lean in just to have a conversation with their fellow diners. Desiree even had to move around our small table of five to repeat herself when telling us the specials and asking us for our order because she was completely drowned out by the music. It was ridiculous, and surely didn't set the right tone for the remainder of the evening. All in the all the food is good, and I must say if you are hungry, the 4-course chef's special meal for $29 is a bargain, but be sure to have had an early lunch or it will be too much food. The entrees are definitely the strongest items on the menu; the appetizers are a a bit too contrived and are lacking. The tacos are disappointing since the tortilla is fried which masks the flavors inside. The avocado wedge is void of flavor which is a shame because when grilled avocados are fantastic. The special short rib and vegetable soup got rave reviews from two at our table. The fish special, which was grouper, was great, however, what it was served with, unripened mango salsa was completely tasteless and unnecessary. The red snapper was a bit as was the steak and salmon. The bucatini with meat ragu was a disappointment as well. This place struck us all more as a perfect spot for lunch rather than for dinner, so we will return to try it one more time, and most likely sit outside as far away from that music as humanly possible.
