New York/L.A. move over, Miami finally have its very own vegan foodies joint. The place is small and unpretentious, but the food comes from the GODS! We are not easily impressed but every dish we sampled at Om Garden filled our palettes with a joy seldom felt anymore. We were told they pray mantras over the food, what ever they are doing- don't STOP. We want it that way every time!! The waitress suggested we try the homemade Ginger ale, (Fresh Ginger, Agave and soda from their own soda fountain), yummy! Then we had the lotus roll as an appetizer, what an incredible experience, if you like arugula, that’s the way to go. For dinner my girlfriend ordered the rainbow roll (she liked the Lotus so much she decided to give it a whirl). She was literally squealing from happiness at the table. I had the peace Pizza, since I am a big pizza lover and since going vegan a few years ago, have not indulged in my favorite sin. All I can say is, that this is a pizza that any artery clogging cheese pizza should be envious of. Pesto base, over a large whole wheat pita, topped with sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, black olives, fresh tomatoes, and the cheese made from cashews, I was in heaven! For dessert the waitress suggested the Blueberry Lavender cheesecake (raw). Again surprised by the cashews played up big in this dessert, with the combination of the blueberry and lavender, not only a royal color, but a royal experience.....we left both happy and pleasantly full, and with no guilt! All I can say is Om Garden, you need more seating, cause when the word gets out about the best kept secret in Miami, you are going to need a stadium. I will be back, till then, "I’ll be dreamin, of you tonight."
