The most disappointing stuffed cabbage in town!
We took out some food including a nice sized portion of stuffed cabbage. Counterman confirmed it was sweet and sour sauce. After 65+ years of eating stuffed cabbage, this was the biggest disappointment ever! Couldn't eat it, threw it away! There was so much vinegar in it that sweet and sour didn't apply - it was PICKLED! Not fit to eat! Sorry. The tongue was good though and the coleslaw was excellent.

Great breakfast choice
My favorite is corned beef hash and I have tried it in other restaurants in the area. Not only do they have the best tasting, they have the best value on it.

The real neighborhood delicatessen
I'm a busy attorney and always stop into Poppies- morning , noon or night for a consistently delicious light meal. in the morning coffee, muffins: lunch: overstuffed half deli sandwich with outstanding matzo ball soup and some great specials at dinner, at a real bargain price. Everyone's friendly and it's a place I've come to regard as my best neighborhood stop.

Not recommended
We never had such a disappointing Thanksgiving Dinner. The turkey tasted and looked like lunchmeat. The yams were straight out a can with nothing added like brown sugar. They certainly lost 2 customers. And the staff was rude.

Went back after 10 years in New England
My husband used to frequent Poppies while on golf trips in Palm Beach. After a 10 yr hiatus, I got to experience one of his favorite eating spots & was not disappointed! The breakfast items and salads are a great value. We went twice in one week and the staff were friendly & attentive. Planning on going back this winter. Poppie's stood the test of time!

The meat mandwiches were loaded witih fat. they were returned for replacement which was no better.the sevice was fair.the food was luke warm. the waitress was ok but had to be summoned by the hostess. a wholly unpleasant experience. I will not return to Poppies.

Best Breakfast/Lunch
I live in NYC and visit my parents in Florida. Our first stop is Poppies. I just love it there. The price is right. You walk in and the hostess/?owner Carol who has been there for years always seats us by the window. She too is originally from NY so the service is excellent and fast. The food is delicious. I recommend this place highly for a good, inexpensive NY Deli meal.
