Prime Catch

Three couples, all experienced diners, went to Prime Catch two nights ago with great expectations. It is possible we were there on an off-night, but restaurants cannot afford to have off-nights and we will never return to find out. Our (mediocre) salads sat on a tray behind us for more than 5 minutes before the waiter finally came by to put them on the table. Dressing-on-the-side was requested but not delivered. When the entrees arrived they arrived with oily (buttery?) string beans. We requested, all six of us, steamed beans. When they came back they were steamed and quite good; crisp and tasty and nutritious. Listen to this: I ordered the 'potato crusted' grouper. Above the choices in that category of fish there were options for different kinds of starches. I asked for the mashed potatoes. The server told me I don't get potatoes because the fish was 'potato crusted'. No other suggestions or acquiescences... no starch for You! So, out comes a rather tasty, albeit not-quite-warm, piece of grouper sitting O so lonely but for the greasy beans. Upon telling the manager of our general complaints and in-particular the potato story, the manager said that potatoes should have come with that grouper. The waiter then responded, "I am the server, he doesn't know anything about that". There are too many restaurants around this area, many of which are quite good and reasonably priced, to give such a poorly performing restaurant a second chance. It was very foolish of the staff not to do something that might lure us back again. As it is, many of our friends talk about their dining experiences. So not only will none of the three couples return, I am sure many of their friends may rule out Prime Catch as well.

Celebrated my birthday at Prime Catch. The atmosphere was great, we had a view of the intercoastal. The seafood is to die for....had the pan seared sea scallops and they melted in your mouth. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend eating at this establishment.

My wife ordered the scallops from the lunch menu on our first time at this restaurant. Although I knew beforehand that this was a "better" restaurant, I was not prepared for my wife receiving 2 scallops for almost $16.00. Quality, taste, service, etc. were excellent but I have never seen 2 scallops served as an entree at any price. When I commented about this to the waitress, she called for the manager who said this was their normal amount served for lunch. Since he knew that I was not pleased with this answer, he did not charge for our soft drinks. I don't know if I would chance another visit while not knowing what amount of food I would receive. Not looking for an overflowing plate, just a fair luncheon amount....2 scallops are unacceptable,

Overrated.. The location is lovely and when you walk in you think it might be special but it isn't. the food was average, the service poor. After two visits there we would not go back. Oh, and by the way did I mention it is way overpriced for what you get?

It was our anniversary dinner and Prime Catch came highly recommended. For an upscale restaurant, why do you serve soda in a bottle? Tacky? I don't often eat steak and when I want my filet mignon to melt in my mouth. It didn't. The key lime pie was just ok. Not worth the money!

Stunning views of the waterway as you enjoy fine seafood on the outside terrace. Inside has a classy nautical motif. Seafood is fresh and well presented.
