Prime One Twelve (Prime 112)
Posted by Jocelyn on 07/17/2010
I made our reservation 30 days in advance. They had us waiting 2 hours to be seated! They should have told us the wait would be so long when we first got there so we could decide if we wanted to go elsewhere. The girls at the front desk were rude. The manager pretended to help by saying-your table is being set up. Really? It takes 2 hours to set up my table? The food was just ok and definitely NOT worth the wait!

Came here for dinner. We had reservations so we got seated as soon as we showed up. The food was amazing, our steaks were cooked perfectly, and so were our other dishes. Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and so was the rest of the staff. We had a pleasant experience. Prices are high, but it's well worth it.

We were very much looking forward to a great steak dinner, especially considering the reviews. Words cannot describe what a disappointing experience Prime One Twelve turned out to be. First, we had to wait an hour for a table even though we had a reservation. The hostess was annoyed when we asked the status of things after 40 minutes of waiting - when did this become an acceptable practice? When we finally made it to our table an hour and fifteen minutes after our confirmed reservation time I will admit , the menu looked amazing. We ordered the rib eye for two and some of the incredible sounding sides along with a bottle of red. How does a steakhouse ruin a rib eye? The both of us had problems cutting the steak that is how tough it was. And the gentleman's steak next to us was overcooked. We have both been to some of the best steak houses in the country and have never seen experienced anything like this. One of the sides, their potato gratin, was practically inedible with a completely blackened/burned bottom. The only saving grace of the night was the bottle of red, our side of corn with truffle butter and the people watching. It is better than live theatre. Given the issue with our steak the "house" bought us an order of fried oreos which were good but not good enough to justifiy ever setting foot into this establishment again This place is a scene, but not someplace to go if you are looking for a great steak.

I live in NYC but come down to Miami a few times a year to get away from the cold. I have to say that Prime 112 is my favorite restaurant in all of south beach! Amazing food and service. There will be a wait even if you have a reservation, especially on the weekends but its worth the wait. The food is perfectly prepared and super fresh. Its the best!!

Went with a friend to celebrate an occasion. Food was phenomenal as always. From the first second it was obvious they were rushing us. After entrees the waiter asked us if we wanted desert and when we replied that we were full he admitted that he didn't care if we stayed but management really wanted to turn our table. Truly obnoxious service and attitude (busboy grabbed napkin and water glass). Spent $400 for two.

Overall best steakhouse I have ever been to. I had reservations and ran 15 minutes late. When I got there I didn't even have to wait. It isn't the most romantic place in the world, but the food is great. The bread they give you was wonderful. I had the filet with truffle mac and cheese and the fries...very good. My friend had the swordfish and that was wonderful as well. You must stop by this place if ever in florida.

Undoubtedly the best meat I've had in Miami. Every dish came with a fine touch to it. The kobe beef burger with some fois gras butter spread on top is very unique and tasty (make sure to order medium rare!). The oysters rockefeller and the filet mignon are also remarkable. An exquisite dining experience, however, be prepared to be patient. Even with reservation, the usual wait is about an hour at the bar, valeting a car adds 10 minutes before and after. Not a very romantic atmosphere: the tables are too close and the buzz takes away a fraction of the indulgence in your food. Reservations are a must, but the later they are, the better!
