My girlfriend and I eat out quite frequently. We love to try new places and we noticed "Reds Backwoods Barbecue" one day so we decided we'd give it a shot (we're always looking for a gem!). To start, the service was quite lackluster. We order and about 45 minutes later food arrives at our table. My girlfriend got what she requested - I did not. Worth noting: The restaurant was at half capacity at *most* at this point. They weren't exactly busy by anyone's standards. They finally fix my order and get it "right." However, we still had one problem - my meal was akin to dog food. It didn't even smell appetizing. My girlfriend was also unable to finish her plate due to the sheer lack of quality. I summed the experience up to, "Hey, we saw it, we wanted to try it and we did. We now know where not to eat!" I didn't complain about the food and I was quite cordial throughout the entire ordeal. Then, the check arrives. I see they have over-charged me by $2.00 because of the mistake our waitress made. I kindly ask her to take a look at this and I'm met with, "Well, my manager will have to fix that for you. He'll be here in a minute." OK. Great! Thanks! Ten minutes pass, the owner walks over and says to me, "Really, you want to argue over a dollar mister?" Please understand, I maintained my composure and had not been ugly in any way at this point. I then explained, "Well, Sir, it's actually two Dollars that I'm being over-charged. But I don't care if it was one cent! This isn't correct and it's no fault of my own. Please rectify this for me?" (I didn't even bother to mention how unappetizing our food was) He literally snatched the check from my hand and walked back to the kitchen and then returned with $1.00 deducted from the check and said in a very ugly way, "have a GREAT night!" OK, folks... I have to say, I'm a pretty calm guy. I can get a long with just about anyone. I've had just about enough at this point! However, again, I take the high road... I get up, walk over to the cash register (also attached to the kitchen area) and I attempt to reason with the guy. I ask him, "maybe I'm just not understanding the check? Could you help me take a better look at it as it appears I'm still being overcharged by a Dollar?" He literally cussed me out (shouting) and said I had better never show my face in his restaurant again. His own patrons were appalled (as was I)! If you choose to dine here: beware!
