We went this restaurant before 5:30 pm for an early bird dinner. Since the restaurant serves an an early bird menu, four of our 7 guests ordered the early bird menu for their dinner. When we finished main course, we called the waitress and told her that four of them will order the coffee or tea and deserts which come with the menu. She ordered us the regular deserts and coffee, and over charged us over $30 dollars, instead the desserts in the menu. When we approached the restaurant cashier and waitress, they tried very hard to deny everything. The only thing they could not deny was the coffee. They gave us $10 credit back. Must check your bill before paying your bill!,,,

I have been a Maryland transplant to Mississippi for 25 years. I had the opportunity to visit an old friend last March 2014 in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Told her I wanted steamed crabs. We went to Riggins. It was good - brought back old memories of pickin' & spittin' crab shells while digging for the gold. sipping on a cold beer - good time! Crabs were good and I've had better but those "hit the spot" I would definitely go back and recommend it to others!!! Need to put butcher paper on the tables when crabs are ordered to really get the feel!

I had the garlic crabs. Flavor was good but very oily and the meat of the crabs was mushy. Texture was like that of cooked squash. Not like fresh crab. The curly fries were good. Restaurant was dingy and old and needs an update. I won't be going back

One person ordered a Medium-Rare 6oz Filet, it came out Medium well. We waited for the server to finally make it back and sent the steak back. It took almost 30 min before the replacement arrived. I ordered King Crab, when it arrived to the table it smelled rancid and the whole table noticed it. When the server finally arrived to bring the steak, I told him something was wrong with my crab. It smelled funny, the shell was like rubber, the meat was mushy and tasted like I poured a bunch of salt. The server informed me that it is from the ocean, and crab is salty. I said I eat King Crab all the time, it is the only crab I like it is a sweet crab, not a salty crab. After a while he came back and said the Owner will not make more because I obviously don't know what crab tastes like. Not even a visit to the table? So I asked for another menu. That took 20 min & I got it because someone else at the table got up to get it for me. Our Server immediately came after I had the menu in my hands and asked what else I wanted. I told him, nothing, King Crab is the only meal I eat here and I am not ordering something just to order something. He left the table. I went outside and another plate of rancid King Crab appeared. I was surprised to say the least, but I didn't eat that order either, everyone could smell how bad it was, I took a little taste as well as my father and my friend and both said how unappetizing it was. Once again, rubber shell, yellow color meat, mushy meat and extremely salty. Still no visit from the Manager/Owner. We also complained that everyone's dishes arrived cold, one meal never received its side dish, we asked for napkins numerous times and we ended up going and taking the napkins off 3 different tables because each roll was almost empty. Jumbo shrimp the size of a quarter, I ordered my own drink from the bar since our server was nowhere to be found. Our bill arrives, Our bill totaled over $300 and yes the King Crab was on the bill! We asked why it wasn't taken off since our server informed us that the Owner is not taking anything off and we need to pay for it. We will never dine there again.

I was taken out to dinner for my birthday to Riggins by my daughter on 3/19. The food was good but the service was poor.I don't feel a waiter deserves a tip when the service has been inattentive! We had to flag him down for service and he never came back to see if we needed anything. My son ordered tea that he never got but it was on my bill! The table was never cleared of dishes! I don't mind spending money for what I want but I demand good service for what I spend!

I went to the crab house with my wife and two yound children. It's set right next to I95 behind Publix on Lantana road. The place itself was rather run down and the decor is in despite need of an update. The food was fair. We ordered the fried oysters which were very good but you couldn't really taste the oysters over the batter. Fish and chips were very good. Baby back ribs were poor but you can't expect great ribs from a crab house. Curly fried were good but the crab chips were simple potato chips and tasted nothing like crabs. We also ordered a dozen garlic crabs. The crabs consistes of a bowl full of ripped up crabs soaked in garlic and oil. The crabs were small but tasty. The best part was allowing my son to smash the crabs with a hammer on the table. It gets really really messy. It was an interesting experience but I would never go back because the service was unacceptable. We had to ask for a refill of our water, forks, napkins, and ketchup. Each time we asked it took at least 10 min to get what we wanted. Nobody took away the empty dishes and the only time we got any attention was when we had to flag down the waiter. He was a nice guy but paid no attention to us. Cost was reasonable for 4 people at $70 with $14 for tip = $84 (yes, I do believe we have to tip even if the service is poor).

If you're a displaced Marylander in South Florida, this is definitely the best place to go for steamed crabs. They're not cheap but pretty authentic and the atmosphere is truly MD - posters of Annapolis, Ocean City and "Bawlmer" all around.
