Best Cuban food in Miami
This place is a little hole in the wall, but has the best Cuban food in Miami. No one can come even close to how delicious their black beans are or their ropa vieja. I love the food here. Their service could be better. We've been regulars for many years, so we always get fantastic service. If you are not a regular, though, the service is not as stellar. It's still well worth going,

Great even after 30 years
The best black beans, Cuban steak, fries, ropa vieja and flan in town. This is the restaurant I take to my out town friends and a 'requirement' to visit when my children return to visit Miami.' Not fancy but excellent food that is the same after all these years!

Unappetizing food & poor service
If you want your arteries cloged then this is the place for you. All sandwiches come with fries on top of it. Really old and greesy fries. They have no soda refills! Prices are outrageous! black beans & white rice & chicken steak is $16.

To Cuba and back
Food was great but their service is really disappointing! The waiter is rude; throws napkins as if you do not deserve their time. You have to beg to order a soda. Places the water cup in the middle of the paper menu while you are reading it. I think they need to work on some customer service. The only thing saving them is the good food.

Purely Authentic
When it cones to Cuban food, I go no place else but here. As a Cuban-American, I cannot deny the home style cooking that Rio Cristal serves on a daily basis. From it's "Bistec Empanizado", "Masitas de Puerco", "Chicharron de Pollo" to it's succulent "Vaca Frita", there is nothing lacking in taste and definitely not in portions. They serve up the dishes that I grew up eating at home, and with all the love of which Mom use to make. The restaurant has looked the same for the 25 years that I have dined there, and they are always happy to see you. You will not be disappointed, none of my out of town guests ever have.
