YES best Chinese in Ft. Lauderdale
We just came back. It is tiny so I would order take out or order and go pick up if you are too far away. You can ask for it to be spicy (which I would do on the ones not marked spicy) but the taste was spot on otherwise (we do like spicy). We had General Tso Shrimp-- Perfect, Hunam Shrimp (ask for spicy) Shrimp Chop Suey (ask for spicy) Shrimp w Lobster sce (ask for spicy) The servings are huge but they do have a small portion column so you can taste lots of things Only 1 drawback--no brown rice. We will order again and again. The menu is huge

As good as promised! As great as promised
All the reviews below are true. There is about 1 review a year for the past four years, and I want to tell you, it's all still true! The staff are friendly and service is excellent. You have to wait a few minutes because everything is cooked to order. Great value, and I have to say probably the best Chinese food in Fort Lauderdale. These folks would be competitive even in New York. A dish worth sampling: spicy tofu.

I get it at Ruby Chen's
Best Chinese in town. I get lunch from here at least once a week. They have good prices and lunch special includes a drink. The servers are very pleasent.

amazing!!!
if you happen to be in the area, hungry and looking for great food for a very good price, this is the place to go. its not the tip top of chinese restaurants when it comes to appearance, but for the quality of the food and broad menu, leaves many well known chains behind. highly recommended.

A Lighthouse among the Abyss
Having eaten Chinese food for over 30 years, I have to say this is one of the best, if not, the best so far. I travel a lot mainly because of my job and family so I've been to many Chinese restaurants in many states... I'm no amateur when it comes to Chinese food. I came to Fort Lauderdale on a family visit and so I decided to go out and see what this city has to offer. It's nothing special, but then here's where I saw the light of hope. I was hungry and of course, being a big fan of Chinese food, that's what I was looking forward to eating. I drove by many Chinese restaurants and none looked very appealing until I came across this one known as RUBY CHEN'S. Unlike most of the other restaurants I've seen, this one does not have tinted windows and is not shady-looking. You can see the inside perfectly from your car and when you're at the counter ordering food, there's even a nice view of the kitchen so you can watch them cook and with that in mind, since you're watching them cook, you know what you're getting, unlike at other restaurants where it's cooked and brought to you (who knows what goes on in the kitchen and how the food is prepared?). It's brightly lit and that's a very good thing because other places around aren't that brightly lit and gives off a gloomy vibe, but this restaurant makes a stranger feel at home. It's very clean, the bathroom especially. There's not many tables, about 4 or 5, but that's not surprising because it's a take-out restaurant after all. It gets better, the price is unbelievable! I ordered a combo plate of chick lo mein and it came with pork fried rice and an egg roll for only $7.69 (and that's with tax!)! The portion was.... let's just say it can feed an army or two, yea, it's just that big, talk about value huh? The service is incrdible, the lady taking my order was the nicest lady I've ever seen.
