Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children. Although the food was delicious, everything was ala carte. After you order the entree, starch and vegetable, you have quite an expensive meal. If you also order appetizers, desserts and drinks, you better take out a loan. What I couldn't understand is if you are a seafood restaurant, why isn't there one or two seafood dishes on the children's menu??? A nice flounder and/or shrimp meal for kids would have been great. We had to order adult meals for both of them because they couldn't agree on the same seafood entree to share. Safe to say we will not be dining at Sea Watch again.

After reading negative reviews we were afraid to visit. Our experience was top notch. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The meals were a little pricy but you are paying for the ocean view. I last visited this restaurant 18 years ago. Food was excellent then. The remodeling is beautifully done. I would definitely recommend this place.

This is the 1st time we have eaten at Sea Watch since it was renovated. I decided to have a surprise 60th birthday party for my wife. The food was delicious and our server provided everyone with excellent service. I was a little unsure as to whether or not to have the party at Sea Watch since I read several derogatory reviews. Well we were all pleasantly surprised with the excellent food, presentation service , atmosphere and superb desserts.

Four of us paid $150 for 4 entrees, 3 side salads , 2 sides of baked potatoes and 5 beers. The salads were dry with 3 drops of dressing smeared on the plate next to vegetables. The prime rib for $25 was cheap quality beef cooked to a state of a shoe sole. We sent it back for good. The filet mignon for $27 was burned and looked like a piece of charcoal, we sent it back to redo, it was redone without burning but the quality of the meat was nothing even close to a filet mignon. The bouillabaisse for $28 was the size of an appetizer with 2 clams, 2 mussles , 2 shrimps , a piece of fish and a piece of a lobster in it. Paellia for $28 was the only portion of an average size that could satisfy an adult. The baked potato for $4 was made in a microwave and inedible. The side of grilled vegetable for $5 contained ( I'm not kidding) one slice about 1/2 inch thick of each: portabella, yellow pepper, onion, zuccini, eggplant. Three of us left the place hungry because of children-size portions and inedible quality of food. When we sent food back, neither a chef nor a manager came to the table to investigate . I complained to a manager at the front desk, all she said was "I'm sorry for your experience."

The Sea Watch restaurant has been a staple in the Ft. Lauderdale area ocean for more than 30 years. They renovated about a year ago, and in addition to the decor, they changed the menu and the presentation. The size of the portions were decreased and the quality and visual presentation were improved. For those who are big eaters (some of my friends), they don't like the new Sea Watch. For myself, I'd rather have nicer quality and a better presentation and less food. So I think there has been a great improvement. If you want to dine on the ocean, there's nothing between Hollywood and Boca where you can do so, other than the Sea Watch. The food isn't 4 stars, but neither is the price. Its a good value and a nice place to eat.

Seven of us went to dinner for New Year's eve. Although two of us have long eaten at Seawatch and enjoyed it, this experience was a waste of money. The food was cold, and the waitress indifferent. After several years of dining pleasure, we're not certain we would return. Why waste even more money? The renovations, however, look good, but you're not eating the furniture. Food for thought.

I loved this restaurant in the past but it has changed since the renovation. The menu is limited, my food was skimpy and tasteless. The view is all it has going for it now. Very sad...I always brought guests, but would be embarrassed to do so now unless the view was more important than the food. I was also seated at an awkwardly placed table for two.
