Not recommeded
My partner and I made a trip to Shorty's BBQ in Deerfield Beach in the hopes of having a decent meal, we obliviously had bargained for too much. When we looked at the menu, we where never helped by our server as to what they offered and we where never told about the specials or combos. When the food came to the table, my partners pulled pork sandwich was not hot at all, I asked her how they heated up the pork, she said that was not done in a microwave. She took the plate and returned in 2 minutes and the pork was warmer but still not hot and the BBQ sauce had not changed color , this is a a sure indicator that it was reheated in a microwave oven and not in a saute pan. My ribs were hot enough and so were my veg, but they lacked flavor and seasoning.The price was reasonable for the sandwich, $7.79, but 15.99 for flavorless ribs I thought was just bit too much. During the course of the meal we were never asked if we wanted more to drink or how our food was. There was a clear absence of any kind of management there and lack of interest in the quality of the food or the service. We were very disappointed in the overall experience

Save your money
I'm confused as to how this could ever even be considered Barbecue.... Ribs were VERY tough, tasted as though they had been boiled in PLAIN water & tasteless sauce added after being plated. Slaw was lacking taste, even wondered if it was fresh. Service was good & friendly, you are served a huge portion, just a pity no taste. Only took a couple bites left it all, refused doggy bag & was just given bad look for not eating. Go elsewhere or make your own.

This is not BBQ
This is BBQ for the un-educated person and palate. Sure they give you alot of food but that is easy when they are serving a poor quality product. The people that work here do not even know what pit bbq is or how it is cooked.

Just moved down here
Mother and I went here because she had a coupon. We had the 1/2 chicken along with cole slaw and french fries. It was a good deal because we had leftovers for another meal. The chicken could have had more bbq sauce on it. had to put some extra sauce that was on the table on it. the fries and cole slaw were both good. I would go again if I had a coupon or there was a special deal.

lunch at shorty's
My wife and myself went there on a sunday, we got babyback ribs,onion rings and a large salad. the rings were good the ones on top were great and on the bottom too much oil. the ribs were not fall off the bone , I had to use a knife to cut them apart, the salad was ok dressing was good. to my supprise they have warm bbq sauce brought to the table. the server was good. overall taste was good not great.
