Last Saturday I was out w/jazz musician friends who are touring Florida. (Although they are visiting from NY, one of them is 2nd generation Italian. She, her husband and I arrived 1/2 hr before closing. At that point there where a few people at the bar and some seated at one table. We ordered appetizers, soup, salad, two entres and drinks. We asked the waiter to hold some items because we were not ready. And we asked that some items be customised. Every request was met with a smile or light banter. The prices were good for adults however I wouldn't take the kids for a quick bite.

I have never been so insulted in my life at a Restaurant. I have been going for years with family etc. I showed up at 5:42 pm and the Bartender threw up his arms and in disgust said early bird is over. It ends at 5:45, and by the time I put in the order, it will be to late. I showed him the time on my cell phone and he rudly pointed to some antique clock on the wall where the time could have been put ahead. He asked if I could come earlier. He never smiles or talks to you and acts like I (the customer) is bothering him. After he insisted he was right, in this old dilapidated restaurant, I decided to go elsewhere, because of the rudeness. I had an excellent dinner at a competitor's restaurant, and left my 20% usual tip. Money wasn't the issue.

I grew up in Brooklyn with Italian food both home cooked and all that was offered in the many Italian restaurants that I dined in. I've found Stresa's food as good as any I've eaten before and definitely the best I have found in this area. The setting makes me feel like I'm among friends and the service has always been friendly and superb. I think some people need attitude adjustments since I've never heard anyone I know complain about the place. And I know quite a few people who go there.

I found the Dover sole to be the best I've ever had, This fish is fileted table side by the server who was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere was very Italian homey, and even my friends that have "difficult" palates were accomodated.

I have had the best Italian food in this area at Stressa's. It is always fresh and of the finest quality. Never a complaint. We have always been treated as though we were specail guests!

We had a great table in the corner and I was ready for a "real" Italian dinner. What we got was a waiter that did not want to add chicken to my gnocci which had no meat in it. He just kept turning up his nose at me...just mean! Ok...we can get past that...but when the food came it was plain..no flavor chicken was so dry and old tasted like rubber. I called when I had a chance to speak to the owner and he was even more rude that the waiter...Dont waste your time...go somewhere else anywhere else is better than mean people with extremely high prices. $18 for gnocci with no meat...just mushrooms from a can....lmbo!

I ate at this restaurant with a guest last week and was shocked at the prices on the menu and the rudeness of the hostess. The hostess informed us that everything on the menu was now a la carte, and our main meal at $25 each did not come with soup nor salad. I live in Montreal and am used to higher food prices and when warranted, it is my pleasure to pay. My veal parmagiana meal was very good though NOT worth the price. The ambiance was cute, but far from fine dining. To add to my discomfort with the price of my meal, the music was irritating and the plastic floral arrangements atop our heads were extremely dusty. I will never return here and would never recommend this place to anyone.
