    Overrated

First time at The Cooper last night with some friends. Couldn't get reservations before 8. We sat outside at the bar and it started pouring. When asked about being sat earlier, the hostess was very rude. In fact everyone in the restaurant seemed irritated that guests from the bar had to come inside to get out of the downpour. Drinks and appetizers were ok. Service was good. They severely overcooked the Hogfish. By the time we left at 10:30 they had most of the restaurant packed up for the night. Way overpriced for what it was. We paid $250 + for party of 4- appetizer, entrees and 2 drinks each. Not even dessert! Won't be returning.

    Disappointing experience!

Eight of us tried this new place. Eight of us disliked it and will not be back. Noise and lots of it which made it impossible to hear any conversation. Service is poor... Bread served is stale.. water glasses never refilled, etc. Food is average at best. A burger ordered medium well arrived Rare... A White Bean Soup "special" came as a puree and was insipid after several spoonfuls. A Hog Snapper "special" came out cold and dried out. It was "nuked" and served again and was uneatable. One steak was merely ok but nothing special about it. The General Manager came over when we requested to speak to him and we pointed out the poor quality of the meals served. He nicely offered to not charge for 4 of the entree's but when the final bill was presented only 3 of the lowest charged items were removed. I guess the young people who love NOISE and the "scene" will enjoy this place but as for us... Never again!

    don't go

Service--not good. Food just okay. OVERPRICED. Expected a lot more for a fresh farm restaurant. Many places you can eat better for less. Noisy. Impossible to hear what you are saying.

    Saturday Night Dine

Shocked how poor service was. Table of 4. We had to wait 15 mins for cocktails then they were incorrect when we received them. Ordered salads to start and they never came. Ordered a bottle of wine for dinner and they brought it out after we finished eating. Everything took four times as long and was just terrible. Food was good but service was poor comparared to our first visit. Not likely we will be back or recommended this place to anymore of our friends. It's too bad because the food is delicious.

    A great farm-to-table restaurant

The food is outstanding. Super fresh and delicious. I have several favorite appetizers, a couple of entrees I love, and one dessert that is D-I-V-I-N-E! Don't miss the stuffed peppadew peppers, I can eat these all day long. Pair it with a craft cocktail, Negroni or Last Word, amazing. The scallops are "da bomb." Don't miss the meatloaf. Seriously, who would think that meatloaf could be that good. As a side dish try the fresh peas and fava beans. Do it now before the season is over! Now, the meatloaf. I cannot tell you have good that is. And for dessert The Cooper Sunday. Bring 3 friends with you. Is that huge. They also have a happy hour menu that is super affordable, great outside bar. I believe they have live music on Fridays. Now for the bad part. Service still not perfect. But, they are new and I guess perfection takes time. I think if you know it will not be perfect, you will not be disappointed. In the end it's totally worth my time.
