Being from New England we know seafood, and this was not good. Jumbo Scallops, (4) on a plate for $19.95 is a joke, and my wife Lobster Salad plate for $ 21.95 had more celery than lobster... $65.00 for a disappointing meal....

Our second visit and our last
Having had a great first visit, my husband and I went back tonight for dinner. It was as if we were in a different restaurant. We ordered lobster bisque, scallops, and oysters rockefeller. The bisque had separated and was lumpy. The 2 scallops for $12.00 were not only overpriced, but not very good. The oysters had some whole spinach leaves over them, topped with a bland cheese and warmed. We were grossly overcharged for very poor quality food.

Best mahi reuben
I have been in hundreds of South Florida seafood restaurants and I have to say I have never had a Mahi Reuben come close to tasting as good as the one at The Whale. The purple cabbage coleslaw, juicy grilled Mahi, cheese and bun are perfectly paired! My wife had the Veggie Salad with Grilled Chicken. She said..."How do they make a salad taste this good!" The chicken was juicy and cooked to perfection. She especially loved the avocado and Swiss cheese in the generous portion. We will be back for one of their nightly specials like "Conched out Thursday" or $6 lunch specials.

Best for seafood!
This restaurant is our local favorite. They have a new menu and it is so great! They have had some of the same servers for a while here and they are very personable. They have a new spicy crab dip that is my favorite. It is creamy with lots of crab and spinach. It has a great amount of "kick" to it to make it spicy.

Don't eat here
Disappointing food. Four of us went to this restaurant Friday night and could not believe how poor the food was. My wife ordered prime rib, and it had so much grissle she sent it back. Our server said others also complained about the price rib. He then recommended the flank steak, and after waiting for over 20 minutes, that too was unpleasant. The scallops on the menu sounded good. I had a choice of different preparations. When they arrived, nothing like the manue showed. No breading, and the scallops were soggy and unappetizing. When we complained to the manager, he was not very friendly at all.

Saw and heard such great reviews of The Whale that I made reservations for a table for 3 at 7:00 on a Wednesday night.... got there a little late... was embarrassed to say I had a reservation - there were 2 tables dining.. the place was literally empty!!! The service was poor... went for soup and appetizers... $125 later... very unhappy and very unsatisfied... had the lobster bisque... a bit grainy... came out not hot... and was not really good... fried calamari.. too small of a portion for the $$$ amount and it tasted like it was frozen... bucket of steamers - $22 - half the clams were not in the shell ... who even knows if I got all of them... not great tasting... all in all... will not go back there again.... Xed off my list of restaurants in South Florida.....

Best all you can eat crab legs for $20
Fun place, a bit campy, not really comfortable, but the outside seating is nice. All u can eat snow crab legs are a great deal! You get a big basket of "whale fries" which are thinly sliced potatoes with a good sauce. The crab legs are hot, come out pretty quickly and the service is good. The rest of the food is average. Fish and chips good. Reuben sandwich- not so good. Ipswich clams- great! Cost? A bit high for fresh shellfish (ie steamed Ipswich clams are very expensive. $20 for a lb, which if I bought from the fish market would be $$6.99 lb). They have daily specials at night, soo Monday is a maine lobster and side for $14.95, Tues - All u can eat crab legs for $20, wed is something, Thurs is crab trio for $20 and Friday is prime rib for $15 or so. Happy hour is good and they have daily lunch specials. Again, I come back for the crab legs, and have friends who go fo rthe other night;y specials. Very friendly servers, good service.
