Best all you can eat crab legs for $20

Fun place, a bit campy, not really comfortable, but the outside seating is nice. All u can eat snow crab legs are a great deal! You get a big basket of "whale fries" which are thinly sliced potatoes with a good sauce. The crab legs are hot, come out pretty quickly and the service is good. The rest of the food is average. Fish and chips good. Reuben sandwich- not so good. Ipswich clams- great! Cost? A bit high for fresh shellfish (ie steamed Ipswich clams are very expensive. $20 for a lb, which if I bought from the fish market would be $$6.99 lb). They have daily specials at night, soo Monday is a maine lobster and side for $14.95, Tues - All u can eat crab legs for $20, wed is something, Thurs is crab trio for $20 and Friday is prime rib for $15 or so. Happy hour is good and they have daily lunch specials. Again, I come back for the crab legs, and have friends who go fo rthe other night;y specials. Very friendly servers, good service.

    A Great Place to Relax

We went to the restaurant as a party of 8 and we had the best time!!! The Server was on top of her game knowledgeable, prompt and even a little witty. The food was excellent from a baked piece of dolphin to the cheeseburger everything was cooked to perfection and delicious. They also make the BEST Margarita I've ever tasted. My wife had the Bloody Mary and came with a great little garnish of pickle, olive ,and a fresh peeled shrimp. We willl be going back and often!!!

Good, but overpriced for what you get

This place has some good food, I do love the whale chips and I've had some really good oysters here. They are a bit overpriced though. If you want to serve things like Po'Boys (a New Orleans fave) take it from someone who lived in New Orleans that they aren't that expensive and have a more generous serving of oysters/shrimp in them.

    An Awesome Place

Food, service, atmosphere, location, all get top rankings from me. If something isn't right, which rarely happens, they will make it right with no questions asked, and with a smile to boot! The Whale is one of the best establishments in the area when it comes to oysters and drinks, hence the name "Raw Bar & Grill"! Don't make it more than it really is, then criticize the place for someting it's not! If you're thinking of going to the Whale, just do it! You will be glad you did!

    A Magical Night

On April 29th, The Whale provided the venue for a fundraiser for our cat shelter, (they also donated 10% of their food sales!) For many of us, it was our first experience with this restaurant. We were probably not an easy group to serve. It's hard to deal with so many people who know each other. We visited each other's tables, moved, started new tabs on old ones...They dealt with all of this efficiently and courteously. I ordered the fish tacos. my mom ordered the grilled salmon, and our friend got the fried clams. All of our dinners were delicious. Our server was friendly and patient. The manager made us all feel very welcome. The atmosphere inside was calm and casual. Then we went outside to enjoy our drinks. The combination of the breeze, the fountains, the music, and being surrounded by so many great friends led to what we will remember as a truly a magical night. So, yep! We'd definitely recommend The Whale!

    Not worth it

To begin with a junk bottle of white wine goes for $28 and is just about drinkable. Prices on name botles are well beyond what one would normally see, especially in a place like this. Went there on lobster special night, put on our order and also ordered the wine. After about 20 minutes, the waitress returns to inform us there is no more lobster (this is at 6:00). Since we came for that we indicated that we didn't want to dine there and would pay for the glass of wine they poured but didn't need the bottle. She said she would get the manager. We waited another 10 minutes or so for the manager to appear and she was rude and offered nothing other than we could leave with our bottle. My wife even asked for a rain check on the lobster and she flat out refused. There is no customer service here and the food is really not worth the price. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone we know.

    Disappointment

We have been going to the Whales Rib in Deerfield for 20 years and were use to great service, value meal and high quality. Not present at this location.
