This place is typical of all South Florida “delicatessens” at which I have eaten in the past 5 years. I keep looking for a real one, but they seem to exist only in my imagination and memories of New York. This one is no different. The menu LOOKS like a typical deli menu. Then the masquerade stops abruptly. They serve mostly foodservice meat. Perhaps they cook and chop the liver in the back room but I wouldn’t take an even money bet on it. The corned beef and pastrami taste like they have been boiled. Except for the fat they would have no distinguishing characteristic at all. Saving the worst for last, the bread is an abomination. Their so-called “rye” bread has a grey color and the marshmallow texture of Wonder bread. Arnold’s Jewish Rye at Publix or Winn-Dixie is VASTLY superior. If you want authentic deli food, stay in New York, or make it yourself—you won’t find it here.
