If you are not careful you will drive right by Uncle Lui's on W. Oakland Park. It is in an unassuming strip mall behind Loewe's. Beware, you MUST make reservations! The restaurant is bright and decorated like a relative's dining room. Breakfronts with Tchakes everywhere. The specials are listed on a board as you enter the restaurant. Then a plate of warm potato pancakes are placed in front of you. You get plenty of time to make a decision and you will need it. Salad or soup, main course, a side dish, dessert and beverage. And don't forget the creamed spinach and red cabbage that are gratis. Don't worry you can always have a doggy bag. I had the breast of veal, close my eyes and Grandma is still here. The spaetzl was to die for, impossible to finish. I saw plates of shnitzl coming out of the kitchen, that seems to be the most popular dish. I don't think you can go to far from wrong here. It is definitely worth the trip. Enjoy, and oh yeah, sorry Grandma, you still are the best cook.
