    Don't Waste Your $$ At Vic & Angelo's !

With a recession on, consumers are looking for more economical dining options. It is no surprise that many restaurants are having specials to get you in the door. However, what I found out twice at Vic & Angelo's is they are lacking in customer service, and table service which makes you wonder, is customer service now not important? We waited 1 hour for our table and were told by the snippy hostess it would only be 20 minutes? One logically would think, now is the optimal time to bring those customers in and make them happy – for customer retention. To my utter dismay this is not the norm at this eatery. 2 visits to Vic & Angelo's in Delray Beach was a huge disappointment. Our dishes came out looking lovely – just one major problem – they were still cold. We sent it back , the second round of entrees arrived 20 minutes later and was still slightly cold in the center. Our server apologized, but what difference did that make? we were still hungry! (How much bread can one eat?) Then to top off the evening my dish had a bone which I tried to elegantly fish out of my mouth.....( no pun intended as I had the fish). I showed the server and he apologized again with a blank stare at me......saying he will certainly tell the chef. My friends had the pizza which they asked "please no crushed red pepper on it" Guess what? your correct! the chef went pepper crazy and now they had to wait and stare across the table at us.....of course we shared our cold entrees with them..... Our server was no where to be found as we started sharing our water glasses with each other (good thing we are all close friends!) What does it take to get some water around here? One last try for dessert! Our friends happen to be Italian and was excited to try the Zeppole! To their bewilderment there was banana creme piped into them?? Everyone who knows Zeppole's you do not mess with the formula! We soon found out the Owners Wife Likes It That Way? How about the customers! I guess it really does not matter too much...... Oh, did I mention there was no manager that ever came over to us and was nowhere to be found? Both managers left early on a Sunday night as I inquired on the way out...

    The Best Ever!

Today (7/8/09) I had the best rigatoni alla bolognese that I have ever tasted. It was absolute heaven on a fork! And the garlic bread was to die for! The restaurant was nice and cool, the waiter could not have been nicer and Frank Sinatra was singing in the background. I can't wait to go back again. Their menu is unique and the food is THE BEST.
