    Pleasant Surprise

We had the pleasure of meeting & being greeted by the lovely Mrs. Antonella Rosano during our last visit who was an absolute sweetheart. Chef Frank was busy cooking in the back & the entire front of the restaurant was running smoothly at Antonella's reign. There were no frustrated customers over wait times or seating locations. It was just a pleasant ray of sunshine & a completely different vibe from when we were here last winter & other staff was running the front when Chef Frank wasn't available. I'm so glad that we met his beautiful wife & are glad she's here to stay giving a charming, pleasant vibe to compliment his delicious food.

I am puzzled by several customer reviews posted here commenting negatively on this restaurant. We have been dining there for many years and have never had anything less than excellent food and service. OK, the manager is not a warm, friendly person, but neither is she rude (perhaps unless a customer deserves it). If you want the best veal chop of your life, ask for it plain, grilled and medium (it may not be on the menu, but they will accommodate you). And the pasta isn't hard, it's al dente, the way it's supposed to be!

    Delicious food, excellent service

I went to Villa Rosano last night after a friend highly recommended it. I'm so glad we did! The atmosphere was charming despite being seated in the very back. The bread was nice, and the olive oil was outstanding. We started with a plate of calamari big enough to feed eight. The marinara dipping sauce was good enough to eat by itself and the calamari were nice and tender. I then ordered the lobster ravioli. It was amazing. It had big pieces of lobster, the pasta tasted fresh and perfectly cooked, and the pink sauce was heavenly. My boyfriend had chicken parmesan and loved it. We finished with a lovely tiramisu. My only complaint would have to be the coffee, which would have been ok except it was served with skim milk. A little half and half would have salvaged it. That was all that was lacking, though. We will be returning often.

    Will not return

Friends of our live out west. They wanted to try this Italian restaurant near their house. The place was so cute. We thought is was going to be great. Boy were we wrong! We were sat in this back room. It took awhile before the server came over. It's ala carte so we aordered a salad to start. It was not fresh. We barely ate it. I ordered the chicken marsala and my friends ordered the eggplant parmigiana and the Lasagna. My chicken marsala had nice flavor but was a little oily. The lasgana was good but light on the meat. The eggplant had so many seeds and tasted bitter. The pasta served with it was hard. We said something to the manager who responded with a comment like the pasta is supposed be al dente and eggplant has seeds. She walked away like we just bothered her, extremely rude. We didnt even stay for dessert. On our way out we overheard her make a comment to the chef and the hostess about a customer. It might have been us. I wont go back.

    Great Restaurant

I have eaten in some great Itlaian restaurants all over the country (including Sheepshead Bay, Manhattan, North End in Boston and Chicago. Villa Rosano in Boca's food, atmosphere, service and value compare favorably to any of them. From the hostess up front to the busboy who tends the tables I am always amazed at their teamwork and quality of dining experience. I eat there at least twice a week and love taking other family members. Rick Hyman

    We will never go back

We are full time Florida residents. In the past we have regularly dined at Villa Rosano once a month. In the last six months we have noticed that the service had been steadily declining. The last two visits were especially poor. This last visit was the final straw. When we arrived we said that we needed a table for five and that our last guest would be arriving later. They seemed to have a problem with that but said that we would have to wait till they could get a table for us. We waited for approximately a half hour till they called us in. They told us that they were giving us a bigger booth and asked if that would that be OK. I said sure. When we arrived at the booth we found that there were no smaller booths. In fact the booth next to us had two people sitting there. We told the waiter that our fifth was arriving in a minute and there was no way she could sit there. He called over a lady who asked us in a very rude way if we had a problem. We told her our problem and she said we could squeeze in the fifth person. We told her we would prefer to continue waiting for a table for five. While we walked back outside we could hear the lady discussing us in a negative way. Throughout the process we felt publicly humiliated. We finally decided to leave and never come back to what used to be a good restaurant.
