    Too pricey for Pasta

Not a bad place Food was ok not great and not bad, but way too pricey for what you get . They think they are some fancy restaurant in Weston or Los Olas . This is a neighborhood place in a middle class neighborhood that sells pasta dishes for way too much . waiter pushed a bit hard on buying stuff we didint want . will go back but not as much as I would like too , maybe on a special occassion but not for a casual dinner out. poor service

We had a party of 30 people planned weeks in advance. The service was not bad till we were waiting 2 hours and we finnaly complained that the entrees never arrived. The owner and staff was not sympathetic and did not care about pleasing its customers. Some people even left befor the dinner arrived because they couldn't wait.

    Not that great!

We had been coming to Vinnie's a few times but on this visit ( Fri nite) the ambiance and service and prices were just a little off. New menu - overpriced for the meal you receive...Owner never did visit our table, even when requested. The food is average and the wait staff is rough around the edges. If you want to pay $125 for a couple, you expect a little better. Music is loud and crowd is 55+ We had a gift certificate and were celebrating a birthday. The owner would not except the certificate...it had a date on it and we were just a few days late. Poor judgment. and ill will on his part. Will not be returning to this restaurant. Pack your patience and shiny dancing shoes if you go....this was our last visit.

    Just Fantastic!

we heard about Vinnies yesterday on Majic 102.7 and thought we would try it, I made reservations and when we got there was seated at a table in the back,as they were very busy, 8:30 a time when the band starts, I spoke with Joseph the gentleman who seated us and told him we csme for dinner and the music, with everything going on, he set up a great table for us right by the music and dancing, he went well beyond what we expected, the band was great, the dancing, the food and the service was exceptional, just exceptional! The food was very good, everything from fresh hot bread with a pesto dipping sauce to the main meals, we had a seafood pasta and veal saltinboca, very fresh food. very well perepared and presented.our server was on the ball, very friendly and attentive. We met the owner,he is on site and walks around introducing himself and asking if everything was to our liking, personal service.

    warm and friendly

Sue and I went to Vinnie's about 7:00 pm not knowing a thing about it. We were offered seating in the lounge or the large dining rooms. We chose the lounge. We were seated at a high table for two with a white table cloth next to a mirrored wall on one side and a typical bar lined with patrons ( mostly older women) on the other side. The menu looked great , lots of lobster and beef choices. A little pricey but not that bad. Our wine glasses were filled to the brim. The onion soup was great. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The older musicians put out lots of nostalgia quite appropriate for the older clientele. Dancing and slow dining was the order of the evening. Not a place for conversational dining. Lots of Tony Soprano types , gold chains and crosses. Al Pacino and Marilyn Monroe pictures in the men's room. We loved it and highly recommend it.

    An EXCELLENT Restaurant

My friend and I always go here when I'm in town. Their lobster specials are by far the best we've had anywhere. They bring bottled water to the table as a comp and many times offer a comp appetizer which is always delicious. We have never had a bad meal here.

    Waiting for Godot

A companion & I visited Vinnie's last night (early evening, 5:30 - 6:30pm, Wednesday). It was our first visit to the restaurant & their professional Matre' D, seated us in a large area room. We selected veal, and linguini & white clam sauce, as our entrees. Meal: The clam sauce was excellent. The veal was also very good. Food: **** Very Good Service: Our server was pleasant, but quite unaccomplished. We were required to request coffee refills twice; also having to request fresh ground parmisan cheese - only to recieve a moistened glass container of poorly conditioned parmisan - that you might find in a poorly stocked, pizzaria - which we did not use. We also had a protracted wait for our check. Service: ** Fair Pricing: The menu pricing is ala carte. Entree pricing was about 20% too expensive, based on it's quality, taste, & service. Value: *** Good Atmosphere: Very poor, despite their attempt to present an "updated" & appealing decor. Warning: Avoid being seated in the two, open area rooms, if you expect to share a private conversation with your companion. These rooms are very noisy & contain no partitions or barriers to break up the din & commotion. Additionally, the rooms are set-up to accept "large party seatings", which only exacerbate the problem. The lounge might be a better alternative, except for it's very limited seating capacity & the extremely poor choice of "live, lounge lizard" music that is currently being produced by an aged, male crooner, who's repertoire, last evening, consisted solely of 60's & 70's popular music that you might hear performed at a wedding. The restaurant would be better served to hire a pianist. Ambiance: ** Fair (to * Poor) Overall: If you hail from any of the New York boroughs, then you might find yourself to be quite at home at Vinnie's; otherwise, you may be disappointed. Overall Rating: ***Good (to ** Fair) Vinnie's has a lot of potential, and with a little hard work - focusing on needed service & ambiance improvements, they should be able to offer a pleasant dining experience, and compete more effectively, in a very competitive environment. I hope they succeed, for I'd like to return for some more Linguini with White Clam Sauce. Delicious! Dave, in Davie, FL
