Key West Pastrami is killer
Been to "The Rib" many times over the years. All there food is excellent, from the Whale fries to the fishdip. My absolute favorite is the Key West pastrami sandwich. The roll it comes on is unique and delish, fried pastrami, cabbage slaw, and some unbelieveable special sauce. Cant wait till next time I'm in Deerfield.

Unappetizing fish
Ordered the Grilled Fish Dinner. The Fish was Dry, overcooked and crispy on the edges. The "Bruschetta" topping was not prepared correctly and contained green peppers, onions and parsely. The Baked potato was very small and cooked well but not appropriate for a Dinner. The fried fish my wife ordered was excellent. They need to work on their grilling skills.

Best Bloody Mary in the Civilized World!
Rock Shrimp. Lightly blackened Dolphin. Smoked Fish Spread. Cold Guinness. Bloody Mary's with a dash of cocktail sauce, large shrimp hanging on the side of the glass. Whale Fries. That's all you need to know. My favorite hole-in-the wall.

Not a high end place but great food.
Always try the "rock shrimp" really good and with the taste of lobster and a better buy than lobster. Key lime pie is also good. Fish dishes are fresh and tasty.

Excellent place!
This is by far, my son's favorite place to go when in Deerfield. We're moving to Florida within the next few months, with one trip to check out some homes and we "have to go there" when we get off the plane. I think the food, the atmosphere, and the serivce is awesome. It's so much better than these bigger, overpriced, bar/restaurants in the area. It's worth the wait. Are they taking applications for a dishwasher? My son wants a job..LOL!!

So...what was the hype about exactly?
I had heard so much from so many different people about this place that I couldn't wait to go here when I moved to Deerfield. Everyone said I had to go, and so one night I did. I showed up with a small group around 9pm, and I still had a 45 minute wait. The bar was kind of a cool area, but the whole place seemed completely cramped and overwhelmed by the number of people waiting by the bar and hanging out. Foot traffic is normally a good indicator of success, but when we finally sat down, I just didn't see what all of the fuss was about. The whale chips and the sauce were pretty decent. Everything else we ordered was pretty forgettable. The soup was ok, but certainly not as legendary as I had heard. I'm not saying it was a bad experience. The wait staff was friendly. I just wasn't that impressed by the food, and I still have no idea why people wait so long for fried seafood. I live in the area, and I've only returned once. Maybe my expectations were way to high, but I just don't get it.
